"The Straylight basis of Disability Glare. Assessment and Origins"
The Eye and the Auto conference. Rochester/Detroit USA, June 23, 2005.
Straylight is a physically well defined characteristic of the human eye. It is accepted by the International Standards Committee CIE as the definition of disability glare, an important safety issue in driving. Straylight values vary widely in the population. It can be assessed accurately.

"Light Scattering in the Human Eye"
Originally presented at the Wavefront congress. Athens Greece, Februari 11, 2005. Presented also and video taped at The Eye and the Auto conference. Rochester/Detroit USA, June 24, 2005.
Straylight originates from light scattering processes in the optical components of the human eye. In the young normal eye four sources dominate: light scattering in lens and cornea, fundal reflectance and eye wall transmittance. The scattering processes are physically well characterized. In the older eye scattering by Rayleigh-Gans processes in the lens dominates.
