For the 4th time, Reto Weiler and I are organizing the Amsterdam Retinal Connexin Meeting. This is an informal meeting where we discuss the role of connexins and pannexins in retinal and brain function. The meeting has a very informal atmosphere and is an excellent place to share new data and ideas. In the past years (2003, 2005, 2006) the meeting was well attended by European researchers working on connexins in the retina (Weiler lab, Willecke lab, Dermietzel lab, Kamermans lab) and by a number of other laboratories in and around the Netherlands. Each year approximately 40 people attended the meeting.
For every meeting, we invite keynote speakers. Previous keynote speakers were: Roberto Bruzzone, John O’Brien, Gerhard Dahl and Bruce Nicholson. This year’s keynote speaker is: Dale W. Laird
The meeting will be held on Friday the 21st and Saturday 22nd of November 2008 in the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience in Amsterdam. There is no registration fee. There will be a conference dinner on Friday evening.
I would like to invite you and your lab-members to register for the meeting by submitting a title and an abstract. Please indicate whether you would prefer a long (25 min) or short (15 min) talk. Could you send us this information and an abstract before October 15th to the following email address: email@example.com. After that date, if you would like to make changes or submit an additional abstract, we will do our best to accommodate those changes.
Since most of you have been here before you know the housing options. Otherwise you can use the following links: http://www.hotels.nl/amsterdam/ and http://www.booking.com/. If you need any further assistance, please let me know.
