Neuroimaging & Neuromodeling

The NIM group focuses on high-resolution human functional magnetic resonance imaging research with the aim to unravel neuronal codes in cortical systems. Multivariate analysis techniques will be used to decode distributed representations underlying mental states (‘brain reading’). The obtained imaging data of individual subjects will be modeled with large-scale neural networks integrating results from many different experiments in a common theoretical framework. Refined neural network models will then be used to predict brain activity patterns, which can be tested with subsequent fMRI experiments.
