The departments of Molecular Ophthalmogenetics (NIN-KNAW), Clinical genetics (AMC) and Ophthalmology (AMC) form a strong international centre of Ophthalmogenetics, in which patient care, research and education are combined. The cornerstone of this centre is the register/biobank of genetic eye disorders, which is held by the NIN since 1965.
